Ok Nintendolife, so, a few days before the launch : Hey guys, no spoil here, that's our rule !
The release day : Hey guys, everything on the game, total spoil !!!
😂
Why would someone want this?
@gurtifus This is very clearly a walkthrough guide for the game. It's labelled as such, and we've even put a spoiler warning at the top in case you somehow accidentally click on it!
If you click on a walkthrough guide and then get offended by spoilers, I don't know what to tell you.
I love that the game imports your BOTW horses.
Here's a spoiler. Great sky Island is way too spread out for a tutorial, especially when link can sprint for, like, 0.02 seconds at the start of the game.
@Manxman64 I'm not looking at any guides now, but when I want to 100% the game eventually, they're good for seeing what I missed.
I’m avoiding this at all costs unless I get really stuck.
@lechugajr
The great sky island was much better than the great plateau. I actually wanted to explore it, whereas the plateau I just wanted to get the paraglider and leave.
@gurtifus Was waiting for a comment like this and I wasn't disappointed. You complain about so called spoilers yet you and those who liked your comment still chose to look anyway. I love it just love it.
@Manxman64 Pfftt isn't it obvious?
@Ade117 Exactly. People on here post such stupid comments sometimes >_>
@gurtifus You don’t have to click. Let them do their jobs.
@Manxman64 Are you new to video games?
@RubyCarbuncle @MrLinkTathapast That was just sarcasm, saying that Nintendolife was "No ! We won't say anything like other website" and not inserting pictures in their articles (although spoil tag exist). But, just the day of the release, not a single day latter, the day of the release, they upload an article saying "Everything we know for you to help !" not letting even a day pass ! As if everyone was already bored to play and was almost at the end of the game
@gurtifus They are releasing a guide to help people navigate the game; has nothing to do with boredom.
@MrLinkTathapast Yes but helping people which are only a few hours in (when this guide appeared) is maybe a little too early, is it ?
@gurtifus Not at all. Help can be needed at anytime.
I noticed that these guides are the most read pages on this site. I mean, a lot of people want to play this game blind (myself included) but they're clearly useful for many people.
I wish I had the self control to not look up things when I get stuck on certain puzzles, because it's much more satisfying and accomplishing to figure it out on your own. Same goes with naturally discovering all the game has to offer, it takes the magic out of it if I just read an article that lists all the unlockables and activities.
With that said, I am very grateful segmented guides like this exist for those of us that don't enjoy being stumped on a puzzle for more than 30 minutes.
Our lack of self control is the problem, not these guides.
@PlasmaticSnake I completely forgot about the white horse with the royal gear.
I think I named mine "Blanco", but you're right, it didn't transfer over.
All the same, it's still very amusing riding Ganon's massive beef hunk of a horse in comparison to Link's tiny Teen body.
I named that chunky horse "Dragmire"
No thanks Nintendolife. I’m doing this one alone.
@Baler You just walked into a Banana shop only to tell the employees you don't like bananas.
I appreciate this guide. I enjoy getting through things on my own but sometimes get stuck. I'll come back here if Im ready for some answers lol
AKA: "How to ruin the entire game only a week after launch. Thanks but no thanks lol
@Astral-Grain yes I did.
@Ryu_Niiyama That's pretty cool....unfortunately I played BotW on the Wii U. My precious steeds! ☹️
Accidentally updated to 1.1.2. Is there any way to go back to a previous build of the game?
@Astral-Grain my Ganon horse is named Venger.
@Hordak Did you want to revert back because the duplication glitch was patched?
I'm too scared to try myself yet, I'm still on 1.1.1, but if you have the game cartridge, you may be able to delete the update data and then play the game cartridge version without updating.
I'm not sure if the game saves would still be compatible, and there's always the chance the game just wont run without an update first, but it's worth a shot.
If you don't have a physical copy, there's no legal way to downgrade the firmware. Though if you're looking to duplicate items, I hear it's still possible in 1.1.2, but I also hear it's much more tedious and you can't duplicate nearly as quickly.
Good luck!
@dartmonkey As someone who has put in over 110 hours and spent over 2 hours looking for a way into the last Kiga mine last night, after spending about an hour or so a few days ago - thank you hero path I thought that statue in the wall looked familiar - I for one am happy for the guide. I know this game is “open world” but it’s still a video game so hints for the progression could be better laid out.
Both of my kids and I are each playing on our own, and we talk about it a lot. We all started in different directions and it’s been very different, but some of the stuff that’s relevant we still haven’t found. I only found the “central mine” after 100 hours, so finally got the purdah pad upgrades. My kid found that mine first, but Josha wouldn’t acknowledge it. That kid still hasn’t found the balloon brothers for the masks or the band members for the GreatFairies and only just found Hetsu after we told them where it was. I finished Turelin village early on and those free rock salt spa treatments are the best thing in the game, so I don’t even bother going to my really nice house I built w/ the bed, kitchen and shrine. Garret Town is fun but no benefit there either that I’ve found.
Anyway after 100 hours you kind of want to move on with your game playing, none of us has more than 2 regional disturbance quests done yet, but you get stuck or hung up on something you just want to do. So it’s good to have a 1 stop guide rather than having to Google thru Reddit. 👍
I never did look at the pic to see exactly where that mine entrance is, Rito village should be enough, though I’ve searched every inch of in, trying to break stuff, move, stuff, rewind stuff, but if I know it’s a cavern I should be able to find it. I was looking so hard last night I found a secret spring and cave way up to the north. They hid that cavern a bit too good I think, it’s a game.🤷🏻♂️
Keese eyeballs are your friend. Really useful for fights when fused to arrows, particularly Hinoxs and Gleeoks. Add a triple or double firing bow and they are even better.
Nothing better than seeing a group of them and firing a bomb into the middle to grab 10+ in one hit.
