Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom: All Accessories, Locations & Effects - What's The Best Accessory?

In Zelda's quest to save Hyrule from the rifts, it's important to be stylish — that's why there are lots of different accessories that you can equip during Echoes of Wisdom.

Along with Outfits, Accessories grant various benefits, and all of them are worth seeking out.

Below we've detailed everything you need to know about Accessories in Echoes of Wisdom, including a complete list of every accessory, its location, and what it does.

Echoes of Wisdom: All Accessories & How to Get Them

Below is a list of all of the accessories available in Echoes of Wisdom, along with how and where to get them. There are 28 different accessories in total, while one or two are upgrades of previous types of accessories.

We've highlighted the most useful ones with an asterisk (*) and you can scroll down to find out more about the best accessories.

Ancient Charm*

"Enchanted object from long ago. Wearing it reduces damage taken."

You should aim to get the Ancient Charm accessory as early as you can. Reason? Because it reduces the damage you take from enemy attacks. Very useful for every single boss in the game, basically. And it gets better later on, too.

You have to complete the Let's Play A Game Side Quest to get it, which involves completing the Eastern Temple dungeon and defeating the boss there. It's more than worth it, we think.

Charging Horn

"A charm made of strong horn. Horses are excited by it, powering up their charge."

If you like riding horses, the Charging Horn is the accessory for you. It increases the power of your horses' charge, meaning they do more damage to enemies they collide with while galloping ahead.

This one can be tough to get — you need to beat the Long Course in under 40 Seconds at Hyrule Ranch. That means you need to have completed the Impa's Gift Side Quest. It should only take you a few tries, but remember you can use Bind and Echoes while riding your horse.

Climbing Band

"A leather band that protects your wrist. Wear it to climb ladders and rock walls faster."

Another accessory that's only useful in a few select circumstances is the Climbing Band, which speeds up Zelda's climbing speed — more useful for rock climbing than anything, particularly around Eldin Volcano. but you won't spend a ton of time climbing in desperate situations outside of these.

You can buy the Climbing Band from the Kakariko Village shop for 500 rupees.

Clockwork Bangle

"A simple accessory crafted by Dampé. It helps you wind the clockwork key faster."

Functioning like Twisted Pumpkin-based Smoothies, the Clockwork Bangle is great for Automaton lovers. This speeds up the key-winding when sending an Automaton out to battle — or to platform, whatever you use them for!

To get it, you need to build all six Automatons with Dampé. That requires completing six different Side Quests. If you need help with that, then have a look at our guide on how to get all Automatons in the game.

Curious Charm*

"An unusual memento. The spells on it greatly decrease damage for its wearer."

Second only to the Frog Ring, the Curious Charm is the upgraded version of the Ancient Charm. As such, it greatly increases the damage you'll take from enemy attacks.

This requires another mini-dungeon and Side Quest to complete. You first need to have the Ancient Charm — that means clearing the Let's Play a Game Side Quest. Then, after finishing theA Rift in the Faron Wetlands Main Quest, you'll have access to the Cotton-Candy Hunt Side Quest. Find the Hidden Ruins, clear the dungeon, and defeat the boss to get this excellent accessory.

Energy Belt

"A belt of unusual materials. It increases the likelihood that much more energy will appear after defeating dark monsters."

As an upgrade to the Energy Glove, the Energy Belt does exactly the same thing as the gloves, but better — it greatly increases the appearance of Energy after defeating dark monsters.

You need to search the depths of Hebra Mountain to get this one. Near Condé's House, melt the icicles behind it and sneak past some trees and enemies to reach a cave. Here is where you'll find the chest with the Belt.

Energy Glove

"A glove of unknown material. It increases the likelihood that more energy will appear after defeating dark monsters."

The Energy Glove is a useful accessory while you're exploring the dungeons and the Still World a lot. It increases the chance that rift enemies — the darker enemies that emerge from rifts — will drop energy.

You need to brace the furthest corner of the Gerudo Desert to get the Energy Glove. Head to the northwest corner of the desert and walk through a canyon full of Boarblins. Eventually, you'll reach a locked chest and monster den. Clear the den out for the glove.

Fairy Flower

"Lovely and fragrant flower. Wearing one makes fairies appear occasionally when you cut grass or other plants."

The Fairy Flower is a rather nice-looking accessory that helps increase the appearance of fairies in the grass in the overworld. If you have a spare Fairy Bottle, you can catch it, too.

This accessory is in a hidden cave on the west side of the Eldin Volcano Trail, close to the Lizalfos camp. Just hop over the wall and use a Bombfish on the wall to reveal the cave.

Fairy Fragrance

"Cologne made of fairy flowers. Makes fairies appear a bit more often when you cut grass or other plants."

An upgrade on the Fairy Flower, this fragrance will help increase the appearance of fairies in the grass a bit more. It's not a huge amount, but if you're worried about dying, these are worth bottling up.

You get this as a reward for completing the Looking for Bempu Side Quest, which is found in Faron Wetlands in Scrubton after completing the A Rift in the Faron Wetlands Main Quest.

Final Mastery*

"This scroll has Shisho's greatest teachings. It slows energy loss in swordfighter form even more."

The final tier of the Mastery accessories, Final Mastery significantly reduces the energy loss while Zelda is in Swordfighter form.

Unsurprisingly, you get this from the Slumber Dojo. You need to clear all 14 challenges to get this one. You'll also unlock a final challenge once you've cleared the first 14.

First Mastery*

"A scroll of Shisho's extremely...specific teachings. It slightly slows energy loss in swordfighter form."

First Mastery is the first of a three-tier accessory that's fantastic if you like using Swordfighter Form. It reduces the energy loss while you're using Swordfighter Form by a little.

You need to clear four challenges at the Slumber Dojo to get the first phase of this accessory.

Frog Ring*

"A ring imbued with the spirit of a frog. Enables the wearer to jump higher."

Probably the best accessory in the game, the Frog Ring boosts Zelda's default jump, meaning she can jump a little bit higher. It's often the difference between needing a table and not needing a table to jump up on, so it's very useful

Luckily, this accessory is very hard to miss — it's inside a treasure chest in the Hyrule Castle Dungeon. Specifically, in the room where the Big Key is, which you need to access the boss. Basically unmissable, then.

Gerudo Sandals

"Traditional desert sandals. They prevent the wearer from sinking in quicksand."

The Gerudo Sandals will probably be one of the first accessories you come across. These are useful in one specific circumstance — during the Wild Sandstorms Side Quest — as they prevent you from sinking in quicksand.

You can buy the Gerudo Sandals from the shop in Gerudo Town for 400 rupees.

Gold Brooch

"Highest-quality jewelry. Wearing it makes rupees appear more often when breaking objects or defeating monsters."

The stronger version of the Silver Brooch, the Gold Brooch greatly increases the drop-rate of rupees in the overworld. If you need to farm rupees later in the game, this is the way to do it.

You'll get this as a reward for completing the Secret Chief Talks Side Quest, which is available after completing the Still Missing Main Quest.

Gold Sash

"A useful waistcloth woven with golden thread. Protects you from being windblown."

The Golden Sash is one of the harder accessories to get your hands on. It's pretty useful too, because it stops Zelda from being windblown — very handy to have during Eldin Temple.

To get this, you need to complete the Wild Sandstorms Side Quest, which means defeating three Lanmola.

Goron's Bracelet

"A Goron treasure that grants great strength. While wearing it, the bearer can carry things faster."

With Bind, you shouldn't be doing too much carrying, but if you find yourself picking up more than a few pots or boxes, then the Goron's Bracelet will come in handy. This accessory allows Zelda to carry things much faster.

To get the bracelet, you need to find Darston atop Eldin Volcano and complete the A Mountainous Mystery Side Quest. Bring some fire-resist potions with you!

Heart Barrette

"Fancy barrette with a heart motif. It makes hearts appear more often."

The Heart Barrette is an upgraded version of the Heart Pin, meaning that it increases the drop rates of hearts from grass, pots, and enemies greatly. Again, useful if you get hit a lot.

You need to complete the Beetle Ballyhoo Side Quest to get the barrette.

Heart Pin

"Hairpin with a distinctive heart design. It makes hearts appear a little more often."

The Heart Pin is a useful early-game accessory that will help if you find yourself taking a bit more damage. It increases the drop rate of hearts in the overworld and from enemies a tiny bit. And early on, you can use all the free heals you can get.

Fortunately, you get the pin very early on. It's inside a treasure chest on the 2F of the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon, in a side-on section. You need to get over a wide gap to reach it, but beds and Strandtulas should do the trick.

Ice Spikes

"Footwear with spikes that stick into the ice. Wearing them helps prevent slipping."

The Ice Spikes are very helpful when exploring Hebra Mountain and Lanayru Temple. Wearing them stops Zelda from slipping around on the ice — that includes the Ice Block Echoes.

To get this accessory, you need to head west of the huge icy lake up Hebra Mountain. Then, there's a big gap that separates the lake from another small outlet. Use your Echoes — Clouds, Flying Tile, etc. — to reach the other platform, then enter the cave. Defeat all of the monsters in here, and the chest containing the Ice Spikes will appear.

Might Bell

"A lovely bell made by the Great Fairy. It rings when it senses a might crystal nearby."

If you're attempting to get every single Might Crystal in Echoes of Wisdom, then the Might Bell is almost a necessity. The bell will chime whenever you're close to a Might Crystal in the overworld.

The Great Fairy will give this to you after you complete The Great Fairy's Request Side Quest, which requires you to fully upgrade your accessory slots. You can find out how many Might Crystals you're missing, or simply check our maps, by checking out our Might Crystal Locations guide.

Second Mastery

"A scroll of Shisho's more interesting teachings. It really slows energy loss in swordfighter form."

The upgraded form of First Mastery, this one reduces the energy loss while in Swordfighter Form a lot. An all-around improvement on the First one, then.

This one requires you to clear eight of the Slumber Dojo challenges.

Silver Brooch

"Jewelry of high quality. Wearing it makes rupees appear a little more often when breaking objects or defeating monsters."

If you're in need of rupees, stick the Silver Brooch on. This accessory increases the appearance of rupees in the overworld — similar to the Heart accessories with hearts.

You'll find the Silver Brooch inside a treasure chest just outside of Seesyde Village. Break the broken wall with a Bombfish Echo to reveal the chest.

Spin Brace

"A sturdy but light shoulder pad. Enables you to knock back foes that hit you with a spin."

The Spin Brace can come in handy if you're surrounded by enemies. Equipping it allows Zelda to use her spin to knock back foes. Pair it with the Dancing Outfit and you can really cause some mayhem.

This accessory is hidden in a treasure chest in the Faron Wetlands. Head east of Scrubton until you reach a small cave. Enter, and you should be in a room with four Armos statues. Head behind the second one and you'll find the chest.

Stone Anklet

"A heavy anklet that stabilizes balance. Wearing it reduces knockback."

Annoyed when you get knocked back by enemies? The Stone Anklet helps prevent that. This accessory reduces the knockback you take when getting hit by enemy attacks, allowing you to keep the pressure on them.

You'll find this in the Hyrule Castle Town shop for sale for 400 rupees, so you'll need to complete the Still Missing Main Quest before you can use this.

Survey Binoculars*

"Field glasses. Smoothie ingredients and monster stones will appear more when you break objects or defeat monsters."

An improved version of the Survey Scope. The Binoculars greatly increase the drop rate of smoothie ingredients and monster stones, making them useful for stockpiling some good healing items.

Like the Survey Scope, you get the Binoculars during the Recipes, Please! Side Quest, but you get this at the end of the quest, after making 30 different smoothies.

Survey Scope*

"Special spyglass. Smoothie ingredients and monster stones will appear a little more when you break objects or beat monsters."

If you're on the lookout for ingredients and materials, then you'll want to equip the Survey Scope. This slightly increases the drop rate of smoothie ingredients and monster stones.

When you first encounter a Business Scrub and make a smoothie, they will give you the Recipes, Please! Side Quest. Make 10 different smoothies to get the Survey Scope.

Zora's Flippers

"Flippers that resemble Zora fins. You can swim faster while wearing them."

The Zora's Flippers are an extremely useful accessory that you'll want to save up your rupees for. Equipping them allows Zelda to swim much faster, which is vital for the Jabul Ruins and for multiple caves scattered around Hyrule. It's also almost required for the game's final boss.

You'll find the Zora's Flippers on sale at the River Zora Village shop for 350 rupees.

Zora Scale

"A charm made via secret Zora methods. Enables the wearer to hold their breath for longer underwater."

A Zelda game doesn't go by without some kind of item to help you breathe underwater, and that's what the Zora Scale is. It allows Zelda to hold her breath underwater for longer, useful if you spend a lot of time in the water.

This accessory is a reward for completing The Zora Child's Fate Side Quest, which is available as soon as you clear out the Stilled Upper Zora River Rift during The Jabul Waters Rift Main Quest.

What are Accessories in Echoes of Wisdom?

Accessories are pieces of equipment that Zelda can wear to boost various traits and attributes. Some accessories increase the drop rate of rupees or hearts, while others will help make Zelda swim faster or walk over quicksand.

They're different from Clothing, which are mostly just to change Zelda's appearance. you can find more about Zelda's different outfits over in our Clothing guide.

How to equip and change Accessories

To equip and change accessories, head to the Equipment menu and then scroll down to the Accessory section, which is just above the Clothing section. If you have an empty slot, simply highlight the accessory you want to equip and equip it.

If you want to swap accessories, you need to first highlight the accessory you want to remove and unequip it, then move to the accessory you want to wear to equip.

How many Accessories can you equip?

You can equip up to five accessories in Echoes of Wisdom, but to unlock more slots, you need to find the Great Fairy.

Best Accessories in Echoes of Wisdom

Depending on how far through Echoes of Wisdom you are, different accessories will be useful at different times. But there are a few that we found ourselves constantly equipping.

Frog Ring

The Frog Ring is easily one of the best accessories you can get, and you get it around the halfway point of the game. Zelda's jump is woefully short, and this gives her a bit of a boost, making all those Echo jumping puzzles a tiny bit easier.

Survey Scope and Survey Binoculars

If you like making Smoothies and want to save money on potions, then the Survey Scope and Survey Binoculars are perfect for you. Smoothies cost a lot less than buying red or blue potions in shops, so if you have a spare accessory slot, pop this on.

Ancient / Curious Charm

A late-game accessory you'll get is the Ancient Charm, which is then upgraded to the Curious Charm. This reduces the damage you take from enemies, extremely useful if you happen to be right in the middle of the action.

First / Final Mastery

Lastly, if you like using Swordfighter Form, then the First Mastery (and its upgraded variants) is an excellent choice. It'll allow you to stay in Swordfighter Form for longer, which is especially useful in those longer boss fights.
