Hmm. I was down for the Lite at £200, despite my reservations that Lites should never have cost more than £150 in the first place, but the fact GAME are asking for £10 more (plus... it's GAME ffs), has turned me right off. I'll wait to see who else is listing it.

Being a savvy/curmudgeonly gamer these days I’ve been grumbling to myself the only Christmas game would be Astrobot for about £60-£70. The fact this is going to be around around £40 has made me happy to skip Astrobot for the time being and get this instead, and possibly something else Nintendo with the money I can save.

I have a Lite but the battery's borked after months of being left plugged in accidentally. Genuinely considering the Hyrule Edition because it's gorgeous and, more importantly, fiscally irresponsible

Looks like Nintendo saved their best special edition Switch Lite for the last year in the system's lifespan to push some extra unit sales from collectors. Switch may surpass the PS2's sales yet... At least until Jim Ryan comes out and says "NUH-UH! PS2 actually sold 200 million units, a number I totally didn't pull out of my arse. We're still the top selling system of all time!"

Any special edition console based on a particular game should have said game pre installed or have the cartridge in box on the shelves. If the 3ds used to do it there’s no excuse. God forbid one pro consumer thing from current Nintendo.

The last special edition console releases from Nintendo always seem to come at the thickest time (just before the launch of the new console) but always end up being of the more valuable from that generation. Tempted!

The Nintendo Switch Lite is currently available in Saturn Germany. I was waiting for the stocks and finally secured one. I wouldn’t buy normally since I already own a Switch but Hyrule Edition seems great and it comes with NSO plus Expansion.

@Fake-news Yeah, I'm a bit miffed it's a standard one. I'm not surprised since they probably have an abundance of these. I always hoped the twilight years of the Switch would see OLED Lite models and something like a PSTV version of the Switch. A truly dirt cheap little box for a docked only experience.

If only it had been an OLED model, I might have dipped. But I really don't see any added value of getting a Switch Lite, as I don't play on my Switch in handheld mode often enough. On my commute to work (2-3 times a week) I always play on my Retroflag GPi Case 2, because it doesn't take up as much bag space as a Switch would.

@Big_Fudge i can understand that when the console is based on and named after a specific game, but this console does not do that - in fact there is no mention of the new Zelda game anywhere on the box 🙂 (not even the word Zelda)

for the Switch OLED tLoZ:TotK Special Edition console, here in the UK / Europe it was absolutely ridiculous how tiny and obscure the writing on the box was saying the game wasn't included (so tiny it could make you think it was done intentionally)

go look at the image of the UK/Euro box and see if you can see it. i know the American version made it fairly obvious and prominent

Nice enough looking to where I almost want to get one, but the last thing I need is another Switch. Bring on the Switch 2!

@Big_Fudge Special Edition consoles including the game are gone now. gives the customer the choice of what format they buy the game in: digital/physical [/collector's edition (if one exists)]. console price can be lower than what it would be if it included the game. makes way more sense

@Big_Fudge i didn't say it was "way lower" ! 😂 lol. i honestly don't know what to say about barely anyone wanting NSO+ 🤔 i for one really enjoy it. i'm sure many others do too. so it's a welcome thing. certainly being NSO+ instead of standard NSO (which is all they mentioned in the Direct) was a nice surprise 🙂

actually it's only £10 more RRP than regular Switch Lite RRP. which is the same difference between Switch OLED and Switch OLED Special Editions . . .

allbeit the Switch Lite Aloha Edition did come with Animal Crossing New Horizons game pre-installed for the same price as the regular Switch Lite 🙂

GAME [UK] charging £59.99 for a RRP£49.99 game is an absolute joke

I do need a new Switch Lite (the drift sucks and i worry ill break it if i try to fix it, and mine overheats easily), and while the design if the Switch Lite itself is cool, I won't ever play the game...

I preordered them a while ago. I actually preordered two copies of the game, plus two of the Hyrule Edition Switch Lites: one for me, one for my girlfriend. I preordered one set at Best Buy, and the other set at GameStop, so I can get both sets of preorder bonuses.

Gonna pick up the one at Best Buy first, as my local Best Buy opens at 10:00 a.m., then go to my local GameStop when it opens at noon (unless they do a midnight release, at which point I'll do GameStop first and then Best Buy when it opens).

Once I get both sets, I'm heading over to my girlfriend's place, and we're going to spend the afternoon playing the game together, since I took the day off of work to pick these games up, and she already had the day off because of the way her work schedule is structured (getting Wednesday and Thursday off every third week; we call it a split week where the both of us work).

As much as I want one of these the fact that it doesn't come with the game is annoying. I'm tired of consoles being themed with a games release but the games not included.
