Man I love this game, played it quite a bit, and loved the Dimensional Shell shock DLC too! I don't really stray from the turtles though especially since I know zero about the lure, but I'm so happy they are still supporting it!

If it is like 5 bucks I'll get it.

abandoned turtles aside, I love that two years later this wonderful game is still full of surprises.

I am over the moon about this. I was unreasonably giga hyped for Shredder's Revenge and played it through far too many times. I yelled when I saw the release date trailer reveal Casey. I loved this, and the DLC, to bits. And now I have an excuse to replay it for the nine millionth time!

@LadyCharlie I think the reasoning is she wasn't in the 80s cartoon series. Then again, neither was Karai. Still, Venus has appeared in recent comics, so if the game can reach a third DLC, who knows? DLC 3 being Irma and Venus as playable characters would be perfectly insane.

There is supposed to be a State of Play for PlayStation tomorrow. Makes me wonder if the announcement was meant for that.

I tried the new comics. I loved Last Ronin! But I just couldnt get into Venus or any new ones. Reminds me too much of Jim Carrey's Viera character in In Living Colour. Are they still trying to keep up with the Renaissance artists?

I'm re reading the review and yes it's an excellent game but no it's not better than Street of Rage 4. It's faster and more approachable though for sure.

I'm glad that the game is getting an update and probably will be waiting on a dlc pack.

There’s a fifth turtle in the IDW comics I believe, going by a cover I’ve seen. I’ve not read the comics though.

Looks like I'm going to be waiting for a "final" physical edition now!

Great news to start the day!! Two new characters means two more reasons to go through the story mode and the 1st DLC's survival mode again 😍

@mlt Agreed, Streets of Rage 4 is a better game. It's probably the best beat em up ever made.

@mlt They both have something that makes them different, and I like that. I think Streets of Rage 4 is a better experience than what Double Dragon has been giving out lately.

This still isn't on the shop. Neither is beyond galaxyland. I wish these things were playable at midnight. Specially when you preorder it like beyond Galaxyland. That will be called BGL in to time.

I wonder if Irma, Zack, and Carter will also become playable. Not sure how Irma would work, but it would be funny.

@Tasuki While I think such a deep hatred is strange, I don't think the idea of a fifth turtle is bankrupt. The character Venus just had too much going against her.

1. A poor background to explain why she exists
2. By the time of her arrival, Ninja Turtles was already waning in popularity.

Shredder's Revenge was good, but all characters played very samey. The new DLC characters don't seem too different either, unfortunately.
Streets of Rage 4 offered a better gameplay variety with its DLC characters.

I sold my physical copy of this game. I think I will wait a few years and buy the new "ultimate" edition when it comes out. Same strategy that I'm holding on for with Mortal Kombat 1. I ending up buying MK11 Ultimate with all the content for like 10 or 15 bucks.

New characters look nice though. I had forgotten about these, but I think my little brother had Mondo Gecko and some stingray guy too.

I have not heard that name "Mondo Gecko" in forever. Just how many characters have I actually forgotten from the Turtles universe? This game is the game that keeps on giving, very impressive.

@Truegamer79 my understanding is it was the Frogs first lol, but I could be wrong. I wonder if that's what inspired me to love Battletoads? I haven't played Shredder's Revenge yet, but... You mean none of the frogs are in it yet?

Nope not yet. Shredder isn't even playable in it aside from a randomized appearance where he's playable in an earlier DLC. The game is probably better than Turtles in time but yeah Mondo Gecko was a nice addition! I barely remember Mona lisa.

Anyone know what the name of the event they were supposed to announce this at? Possibly a time? Dying to play!

@Truegamer79 I totally know what you mean! I just researched Mona Lisa and educated myself on her backstory and history. I'm liking her more and more. More then Venus (no offense to anyone). I love her original name and hope we have a choice to keep it! Y'Gthgba

Glad the developers are still supporting the game but I don't really have any desire to purchase DLC that only adds more characters but not more content (levels, modes, etc)

@N00BiSH shrugs. Venus is my favorite turtle (next mutation version). I was too young to watch more than a few episodes of the cartoon and it didn’t snag me enough to make me a huge fan (I did like the toys as the they were the few non Barbies I could get away with in early childhood) and while I like each of the 90’s movies I didn’t like them for the turtles themselves (mostly the martial arts and crushes on the female leads. Vivian Wu’s Japanese is atrocious but I still adore her.). Next Mutation was perfectly fine for me; it was fun, the brothers were a little less annoying and Venus was a girl turtle that could fight and didn’t wear pink. Still the only turtles show I will watch multiple times (I own the OG and first Nick series). So no “sympathy” required. Sometimes people like different things.

Awesome new characters! Though I bought the Anniversary Edition physical thinking it was “complete.” Games these days…

Nice to see more content added to the game. Easily my favorite on the Switch after Metroid Dread.

@Tasuki They never said that the characters were free. They said that there was a free update that adds remixes of the songs, which is true.

I hope they'll add in Venus de Milo from Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation in that game as a playable character.

The remixes are just chiptune adaptations of the existing soundtrack, it turns out. I don't mind chiptune, but I was hoping for more creativity.

I'm not sure if new characters alone will entice me to get the new DLC. But who knows. I guess it's more down to whether I can find a date to play this again with friends.

Cool update. But at this point I feel like I’ve already spent enough time with this game. A better update would’ve been new stages, campaign, vehicles etc. or just putting all of this in a whole new entry.

Great additions! This has been a really excellent example of a game that was great when it came out, and all the DLC made meaningful updates to the base game that never felt like they were just things cut from the original release.
I was hoping they'd make the Punk Frogs playable as they showed up so often in the levels, but it's a pretty full roster as it is!

They should make joke levels where you play as Shredder!
You play as Shredder through the first, now 10, levels...
They are completely empty of characters to fight except for the end boss, which is one of the good guys!

Either that or make 7 or 10 separate encounters through just one level.
10 is one each!
7 is everyone, but the end boss is all 4 turtles at the same time
