I think we've seen 4 player, 8 player, and 20 player mini-games.

This is going to a wild game, and I can't wait.

Seems like there will be several game modes (like the 20 player online one, normal party, etc.). Besides the ones listed, I found it interesting that Bowser seems like a normal playable character sometimes, but at other times he seems to be huge/the gimmick of a map/mini-game.

This game seems to have a lot in store. I can't wait to see more trailers to get a better look at all the game modes we're getting.

Also I saw different colors of Shy Guys and Toads which kind of seemed playable, wonder if that'll actually be a thing.

Looks like pro controllers are likely able to be used, just not for motion control mini games

@DiamondCore But pro controller has motion control too! I hope they let pro controller work for everything.

Gonna go in cautiously optimistic, it looks promising. But then again, even the worst Mario Partys have something of value (No matter how small.) Fortunately, I was raised on Mario Party 8 and it's motion controls, and I actually didn't hate Super Mario Party (I just felt it had very little content.) That said, I also know both games are kinda contentious within the fandom. I still wish they had just made Mario Party Superstars the ultimate collection of the series history, but it looks like that ship's sailed. Oh well. They're hyping this up as the biggest Mario Party ever, here's hoping they fire on all cylinders for this one.

@Novamii Yeah ever since Mario Party 9 and onwards, Mario Party hasn’t felt the same (in my opinion), so I am cautious about this one. This looks promising though, looks like an awesome experience. I’ll wait to hear more before I decide I’m fully interested though. Interested to see how many modes it has,
hopefully there are more trailers soon.

Super Mario Party Jamboree looked pretty good. I think the only thing that was a little disappointing to me was the boards looked to be small like in the first Super Mario Party. But at least the locations looked cool. The mall and the tropical Island looked dope. Kind of wish they brought back DK's board from Mario Party 1 instead of Mario's.

@DiamondCore @FishyS OK, it sounds like the minigames that use motion controls with the joy-cons are totally optional. I wonder how many of those minigames are there, though? Because it would be good to have a large amount of the traditional minigames, as somebody who prefers using a pro controller.

@MarioVillager92 My guess is that it could be a similar situation to the Microphone from some of the GameCube Mario Parties

I still don't quite understand the issue — I thought all they said in the trailer was that they used shake and tilt, both of which work with a pro controller (although I admit shaking motion controls feel a little odd with Pro controller). Unless a minigame involves you tilting two different joycons in different directions, it should work just as well with Pro controller.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of motion controls so I would prefer most of them not be.

@FishyS Yeah it is a little odd - The only reason I can think of is the awkwardness of trying to hold the Pro Controller, or a whole system in portable mode in the 'thumbs-up grip'.

I think trying to do that hammer mini-game they showed in the trailer would be very difficult if you had to hold a Pro Controller in the same way!

I'm hoping that they at least have a good ratio between motion and non-motion games. There's plenty of people who like them fine (Funnily enough, motion is what got my family to play the games with me. They've never been able to learn these new-fangled buttons.), but I don't blame people who don't want them to be a focal point. (The MP formula was just fine without motion for 7+ games, we really don't need it in every one from here on out. Especially when the Wii era is long over.) Like I said previously, I'm fine either way. I just hope that there's options provided for either side, and that the game doesn't shift back to mostly-motion and completely undo the goodwill that Superstars set up for the classic fans. Especially after many bad/forgettable entries.

I think it was stated that motion control mini games would be optional. This is still going to be a day one buy for me regardless

@Novamii I was thinking about that as well actually. I’d this to be my plunge into the MP series and hopefully find people here to play with, but I hope the minigames are regular non motion games. Or at least aren’t too gimmicky or fill most of the roster.

TTYD, Super Mario RPG, Mario Wonder, and now Mario & Luigi Brothership and this game (Super Mario Party Jamboree) are all showing the creative side of Mario, I hope we’re in a new creative era.

I’m really excited for Jamboree, it looks awesome and possibly some battle royale-like aspects? The 20 player stuff looks promising.

Out of the modes we know, which ones are playable online? Are they just with friends or just random, or can we choose both?

I mean... two of those were remakes so although they were very well done the amount of creativity was by definition less than other games. That said, between Wonder, Peach Showtime, and now this new Zelda game, they have had some insanely creative games in the last year. Those 3 have all had fundamentally drastically new gameplay ideas. And I agree, Mario Party looks like it may fall into that camp also with their crazy looking battle royale mode and such.

That battle royale mode is actually based on the coinathlon mode in Mario Party: Star Rush which was far and away the best thing that game introduced. The main premise that you spend the entire game playing coin-based minigames, and as you do well you move farther on the board and get items you can use to screw over your opponents. It's surprisingly addicting and frenetic, and was only held back by a lack of minigames so I hope Jamboree is able to expand on the concept even more.

Just had a look at the Japanese trailer and I think 1:45 is our first little glimpse at the new Waluigi voice.
I don't think we've heard that voice clip before?

OctolingKing13

okay forgive me if this hasnt been discussed but they teased that there is even MORE modes. and the cannon shootting bowser makes me think…what if theres a story mode to this mario party? that would be really, REALLY awesome! honestly this looks like it might be the best mario party ever

afk for a lot of fall, very busy month! still spying on yall :3

PikminMarioKirby

@Nintoz I don’t recall that sound file, but it was kind of hard to here over the rest of the trailer. Hopefully the Waluigi voice is done well but I’m a bit worried!

@OctolingKing13 Yeah it seems like there will be a lot of modes! I’d love a story mode, that’d be awesome if we could get one. I’m very excited to check out more modes for this game!
