The Blue Blur will be making a spin dash onto YouTube and Twitch tomorrow, as Sega has announced that Sonic Central 2024 will be broadcast on 24th September.
At 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm BST, we'll be getting a look at some "upcoming projects, partnerships, and events through 2025".
Sonic Central usually takes place in June, around the Blue Blur's birthday, but it decided to skip the annual celebrations this summer. But at least we have this broadcast instead.
There are very few details on what will be shown off during the broadcast, but we'll likely be getting yet another look at Sonic X Shadow Generations, which is due out next month, on 25th October. Perhaps another look at the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, too?
Will you be tuning into Sonic Central tomorrow? Let us know in the comments.

Wow, I feel nothing for this. Sonic hasn't really excited me for years.
There's also a PlayStation direct at 6pm Eastern tomorrow too.
Nice, if I can I'll watch it live, curious as to what they'll show apart from the obvious (but definitely still welcome) candidates mentioned by the article!
Will you be tuning into Sonic Central tomorrow? No, but will look forward to news about new 2D Sonic games.
Sonic Adventure 1&2 collection and Heroes and Shadow and Sonic 06.
@Zeebor15 And the Level 5 Presentation for their upcoming games too. So many presentations on one tuesday!
Aside from maybe a release date for the first episode of Dark Beginnings, I won’t get my hopes up too much for this
These are usually Twitter-tier announcements. Like to be wrong though for this one.
I won't tune in, will check the news afterwards.
I do hope for a release date of Dark Beginnings' first episode though.
@Maubari but why Tuesday is the real question
@Zeebor15 : Tokyo Game Show is this week (25th to 29th). Guess they just need the attention before TGS steals it all.
Remember all those non-Sonic legacy games Sega teased gamers with about a year ago now? Or the surveys about which franchises fans would like to see return before that?
It's okay if you don't; Sega doesn't remember, either, apparently.
ATM all I want is Sonic Adventure 2 on Switch. I don't even care if it's just the 360 remaster at this point.
Sonic Mania is 7 years old, Please oh please let someone who cares do a 2D game. There are so many fans that make pretty bomb fan games.
Super Stars for me was a pretty big let down, whereas I have 155 hours in Mania. When it's good it's good. I am looking forward to the new Generations title but have a soft spot for the Genesis and Advance titles.
I hope they don't announce a Batman level for SxS Generations, otherwise, that can get my middle finger.
@Scottdevine53 Not in a million years. Besides, the collection would use DX and Battle as bases for the Adventure games, which is a BAD thing.
@obijuankanoobie We JUST got a 2D game, last year.
@abe_hikura It would be a bad thing, as that port has many bugs and issues, even moreso than the Gamecube version.
@Coolmusic ...I thought that was last week. Hence; Freedom Wars Returns
I am very curious what they'll show. Maybe Sonic Dream Team will get ported to actual consoles. Might be wishful thinking, but it would be nice.
@MirrorFate2 well I hope for the dreamcast version of them.
@MirrorFate2
"I hope they don't announce a Batman level for SxS Generations, otherwise, that can get my middle finger."
Optimistic. My bet would be a Batman skin/t-shirt for for your custom character in Sonic Forces.
Mobile version only.
Interesting. If I don't catch it live, I'll probably catch it later.
I can't imagine they'd announce anything too big in the gaming sphere, at least until Sonic X Shadow Generations is released. Could be wrong, but that game covers both 2D & 3D, and I imagine Sega wants attention on that. There's also additional Shadow levels to come later on, according to the eShop page. Probably gonna be a more TV/Movie/Mobile centric presentation, if I had to guess.
Another peak at Sonic x Shadow Generations, Sonic Rumble, some of the other spin-off mobile titles and such, and clarification on the DC crossover. Hopefully, we'll get a new game announcement (although it's probably not likely) Sonic 3, and maybe a look at that supposed leaked Transformers crossover. Maybe more Lego? Not sure. Either way, tomorrow looks exciting!
Dream Team goes to switch (and other consoles) maybe?
Maybe my 20+ years of wanting something Chao garden related will come true.
I know it won’t lol. I’ll check the news after to see if any interesting new games/remakes get revealed.
@AtlanteanMan the Crazy Taxi reboot is at least a few years away and is an MMO. JSR is the same, IIRC. And to crush your spirits even more, SEGA just announced that they will be rebooting Rent-a-Hero....with NFTs.
Is it greedy that I want more Shadow stuff?
SONIC HEROES REMAKE PLEAEAEAESESESEAESAAEEE
Nintendo's been extremely quiet about NSO Expansion Pack recently (last game was early August). While I do think September's NSO game will be a Rare N64 game like Conker, maybe it's Sonic GBA games or 3D Blast announced here instead?
@obijuankanoobie
Is Sonic Mania the best Sonic game?
of not, what is the best? Sounds like good hours, so it must be fun. Maybe I'll wishlist it.
Hello. We're proud to reveal that we pulled our heads out of our arses and got the people who made Sonic Mania to make another one.
@msvt I'd say so. I like 1,2, 3&K alot, especially 3 stand alone, but Mania just has so much to offer. Tons of zones, an insane soundtrack, 6 or 7 ways to play, depending how you count, and the encore mode with the DLC. Plus tons of unlockables encouraging completion. It's way good.
My best buddy tried it out and says he doesn't get it, so I know it's not for everyone, but what game is? Catch it on a sale, and try it out! Deku Deals says it pretty regularly drops to $8 so it's not too crazy an investment.
I don't expect to hear about a new Sonic game or anything since Generations isn't even out yet. Probably the only gaming-related announcements would be a cross-promotiin like Sonic in Brawlhalla or an update on the mobile games or something. I'd say it will mostly just be merch. Best case scenario we get a console port of Sonic Dream Team, but I don't even think that's very likely yet.
@MirrorFate2 You aren't wrong, and I don't expect it but it is on my wish list. It's highly likely that if they did announce a new one it was also land on the more mediocre end of the spectrum. I try Superstars every once and a while to see if my opinion was wrong, but it just isn't anything great.
In the mean time I'm excited for Generations and the new Shadow stuff too.
@Markatron84 There needs to be a monkeys paw curl to this. They forced the devs to make Mania 2 on the Sonic Heroes engine, or Charmy is the sole playable character. It's not Sonic Team without absolutely bonkers self sabotage.
@MirrorFate2 Why does it matter we JUST got a 2D game? The more the better.
@Elbow it's everything you want from a Sonic Mania 2... but all the music was ripped straight from Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
@Elbow Considering how overpowered charmy is in Chaotix I feel like there could be worse choices
@Markatron84 Not happening in ever, especially after their 3D game sadly flopped. They especially didn't want to do another because they didn't want to be a "one-trick pony" company.
@Yosti This is not the 90's or 2000's, games don't just poof like this out of nowhere and, atm, there is no indication of a new 2D game right now.
@Altaria_97 Don't count on it, the only guy who was the reason why that was even there in the first place left SEGA and is a con-man that nobody with a brain would ever let over a project ever again. That, and SEGA's too incompetent to replicate the Chao system without screwing up, even when porting over (you can notice MANY bugs in both DX and Battle for said system that weren't there initially).
@AtlanteanMan I'm sorry did we not watch the same trailer last year?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VHYLJR9pNg
That's the same trailer...and it was LAST YEAR. My point is, what have we heard from Sega on those or any non-Sonic projects since then? (Crickets).
