Overwatch 2 Celebrates World Of Warcraft's 20th Anniversary With "Legendary Crossover Event"

You know what I would kill a man for? Activision to reference any of the 240-ish other IP they sit on that aren't; the worst 4 of the 8 Blizzard IP, CoD, Candy Crush, and sometimes Pro Skater, Guitar Hero, or Crash (R.I.P. Skylanders/Spyro having his own franchise and not just being a side character in Crash) , but never more than one of those last three at once.

I think the only time they acknowledged those IP in the last decade were: three stickers in Nitro fueled, letting someone license the Sierra City Builder IP to remake Pharaoh, and selling Leisure Suit Larry to the German.

This wouldn't be a legendary crossover event even if both of these properties were still relevant. Heck I would struggle to argue things like MultiVersus and Nicktoons Brawl as legendary crossovers just because they're just globs of IPs owned by one company. Meanwhile something like Smite 1 looks like they spun a wheel to select things to do crossovers with.

Overwatch 2 is taking lessons from Fornite.

They’re close to their all time high sub count and keep very high numbers on streaming site. WoW is still very relevant, even 20 years later.

Would have been nice if Overwatch didn't became the trash it is now.

@shoeses - To be honest, pretty sure Hi-Rez does their crossovers specifically like this, honestly. As a huge Smite player (PC), they have had interviews where they talked about what theu like, and then mused about if they can do it.

Slipknot was definitely one of them.

Personally, I would prefer if Nintendo collaborated with Microsoft and ActivisionBlizzard in porting an offline, single player-focused, multiplayer-optional, World of Warcraft edition(Maybe up to Wrath of the Lich King)

@Daimando Right now you can practically play WoW as a single player game, with optional multi-player. I came back to WoW a couple weeks ago after a decade-plus break and was pleasantly surprised to find that I can do the entire story campaign, including Follower dungeons, without needing to deal with other players. I agree that a single player offline version without subscriptions would be great, but I am having a good time catching up with what I have missed completely solo.

@8bit4Life Yeah. But some people like myself would love to see an offline take on WoW on Nintendo Switch, since its advantage is its "Play on the go" philosophy.
