Pathea Games has revealed My Time at Evershine, the successor to My Time At Portia and My Time At Sandrock. There's no release window available yet, as it's revealed that development is still in the early stages, with a Kickstarter campaign planned to go live on 24th September 2024.
Now, the interesting thing with this one is that it's actually not confirmed for the Switch. Instead, Pathea Games has stated that it is "committed to launching My Time At Evershine on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced". Oof, the upcoming 'Switch 2' then, or whatever you want to call it!
This makes My Time At Evershine one of the first 'confirmed' Switch 2 titles. No doubt we'll see plenty more crop up when Nintendo finally lifts the lid on its next major hardware, but for now, Pathea Games can enjoy its somewhat unique position.
Let's check out the key features:
All New Story-driven Campaign - Be the Governor of a brand-new settlement on the fringes of the Free Cities, facing the almighty Duvos Empire. Recruit settlers, build infrastructure, tame the wilds, and lead your people to create a new idyllic stronghold for the Alliance filled with enchanting characters and memorable stories to enjoy. This new sequel will feature a more defined antagonist, bringing even more adventure and excitement than ever before.
New Art Direction - My Time At Evershine is the most beautiful and realistic game in the franchise to date. Environments are more expansive and varied, characters look more realistic, and animations are motion-captured to create a more believable world.
Multiplayer Co-op - For the first time in the My Time series, the campaign can be enjoyed both solo and in co-op mode with up to four players, making it perfect for family and friends. The host controls the pace of the main story, while all players share resources and money, allowing everyone to collaborate and contribute to the adventure together.
Build a Society - This ambitious sequel casts players as the all-powerful Governor, who can not only build new facilities, and explore but also command a team of recruitable and customizable NPCs. These NPCs handle the day-to-day tasks like construction and resource gathering, allowing the Governor to focus on more important decisions.
Meaningful Relationships - Social play was a key part of My Time At Sandrock and My Time At Portia. In My Time At Evershine Pathea is set to expand these systems even more. Players can recruit up to 3 followers to stay with them during day-to-day tasks or they can dispatch them to do their bidding across Northern Eufala. Pathea is targeting 8 to 10 romanceable characters in the campaign with dozens of other characters spread throughout the game. Players will also have to take their followers' needs and wants into account with tiredness and hunger impacting morale and performance. RPG players will love the deep character interactions and the ability to forge meaningful relationships, with romanceable characters integrated into the storyline and more opportunities to develop connections earlier in the campaign.
Tame A Wild New Frontier - 3 years after the events of My Time at Sandrock, the Duvos Empire has taken over the Orzu Ruins which Ethea also claims as their own, leading to a tense situation just north of the Alliance of Free Cities border in the Northern Eufaula region. In response, the Alliance has launched the North Development Plan to move settlers into the area and establish a new City-State for better defense. Evershine is one of six major new settlements in the area and will prove pivotal in the ongoing hostilities.
Mod Support - My Time at Evershine will include full mod support for both single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing players to customize and expand their RPG experience. Whether you're playing solo or with friends, the possibilities for creativity and new content are endless.
So there we have it: a confirmed 'Switch 2' game! Exciting times indeed. We'll hopefully have more information on My Time At Evershine in the coming months, but for now, let us know in the comments if you plan on picking this one up for the new console.

I thought something similar happened a few years ago, although it might've been for Switch Pro. Not sure what happened to that game since Switch Pro doesn't exist...
They might not means Switch 2, they might mean the Nintendo NX, which we're still waiting to see.... Went dark quite some time ago now
Well, everybody, that can only mean one thing: Nintendo Direct about Switch 2 confirmed!
@thenikdavies : Slow down there, tiger. The Dolphin ain't dead in the waters yet.
Future Nintendo platforms... plural? Switch 2 & Pro confirmed? 😋
Did you hear that guys!?!
PlatformS!
Yesssssss!
The Nintendo Three Pillars live on! The Quality of Life device is finally coming! Praise Iwata!
Is it just me, or does this “new art direction” look somewhat … Fortnite-eque? Not much of a fan, to entirely honest, but I never played the previous games either.
“Realistic” (their words, not mine) isn’t really a great look for farming sims, unless an actual realistic simulation game. Otherwise you want a style that is as unique and charming as possible. Very different game, but look at Fields of Mistria, which, while the style is heavily based on… 90’s anime? There is still nothing else like it in the genre currently and people are lapping it up in Early Access. It has other selling points too, but it’s the art style that initially attracts people. But this game’s art style is too… not quite generic, but still very familiar seeming.
Also the character holding the poster of herself in a conflicting art style is just weird. “I’ve changed the engine’s art style, now no one will recognise me!”
the game's still in early development.
the developer is just future proofing.
a nothing burger announcement.
I still not quite sure with the third franchise of My Time At as I need clarification about PS5 physical release of My Time At Sandrock.
I saw Download Required on the front cover not just only the Switch version, but also on PS5 version.
What was that mean?
Did we get partial game that will be unplayable without downloading the other half part of the game, even for PS5 version with higher capacity of disc size?
I still curious to see how Pathea will develop their third franchise without causing problematic bugs and technical issues after the game being released and how do they sell their games properly without gave Download Required treatment that looks a big excuse to not selling their games properly, either the issue was from weaker hardware specs of Nintendo Switch or the expensive price to sell the games on Switch cartridge or Pathea just being lazy to sell their games for console version.
ewwww the art style sucks, the gfx are NOT next gen, trying to rip off botw, combat looks jank asf, music sucks and the protagonists are so lame. this reeks of desperation.
I really hope they fix the technical issues. I still won’t buy Sandrock due to all of the issues (thank goodness for gamepass or I would have wasted money). I want to like the My Time series as the connected storylines are cool and I like that you build up a town (there really isn’t a current series exactly like this but I am always reminded of Dark Cloud) but the games from a technical perspective are a mess and that is considering that I am pretty forgiving.
But issues like NPCs teleporting (instead of using their walking animation, which makes finding them a nightmare for quest delivery), NPCs falling through the ground and being inaccessible, soft locks, the camera falling into the ground or getting stuck during cutscenes all things that make a quest churn RPG nearly impossible. I spent more time restarting the game (and some things stayed broken) than playing.
As is I will be skipping the new game. And I’ve only bought Portia (sight unseen at the time).
Lol this is probably just an attention grabbing thing for the future, like how when the Switch was coming up along side when this gen was about to start and one of the first announced titles was Gollum. I'm not gonna expect nothing much until Nintendo actually says something
I read a Steam community post about the original Evershine key art being AI, so that's kinda put a sour taste in my mouth. They did address it and change it, but still. On top of that, Sandrock is not even a year old, and was riddled with bugs and issues. Now they're already announcing a third game in the series? I could just be overthinking things, but the more I hear about this series the more I just lose interest.
While I don't mind the style of this as much as others here I have to admit that I might also prefer the one of their previous games, but I'm still looking forward to at least seeing/hearing more of it and yeah, at this point it's certainly wiser to port it to Switch's successor both in the sense of timing and avoiding issues!
I've never played a My Time At game, but they've always been on my visual periphery as they do seem up my alley — I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
no question this is a switch 2 game..
That is one horrible art style. Everyone looks like they're made of plastic. Like the worst of the pre-rendered CGI in old PS1 games.
@N64-ROX I dunno, I think it looks pretty crisp when it's moving
Looks better than the previous games, but still not a fan of that action-figure art style. Super generic
@ChessboardMan keep in mind the My Time games aren’t farming sims. You can unlock very basic farming later but you are really spending more time gathering resources to build items for side quests and main quests to build up the town you are in. You are a Builder in the first two games.
I liked the original artstyle but don’t think this new artstyle is a mismatch due to the genre. Considering that the tech of the old world destroyed everything, a new artstyle may make it look more sinister. Plus they are leaning into the war with duvos plot that has been going on for a bit.
Again I really should play Portia since I got it awhile ago because it was on sale.
Is that Cmdr. Avery in the beginning? If so that means that the old characters are still recognizable in the new artstyle which is good.
@Fighting_Game_Loser Wouldn’t say it’s them attention grabbing (this article on the other hand…). They’re just committing to the next Nintendo machine rather than promising the game for Switch. Nintendo have already confirmed a new console is on the way and it’ll be announced any day now- it’s fair game for developers to start pledging support for it now even if they aren’t privy to early dev units.
If anyone thinks the Switch 2 won’t be revealed very very soon, I don’t know what to tell you other than you’re in denial. Once the devs start CONFIRMING their games on the new next gen system, Nintendo will have to reveal it as other devs will also want to reveal their games, they want to build hype so they get the sales, you know make money….
When I saw that combat and what they were fighting in the trailer. My interest went down. But I like pretty much almost everything else.
I try to respect other people's creative vision, but ... those models. Not only are they the most generic designs possible, but they are likely tripling the art budget to make things look worse by moving to this type of rendering.
There were games announced for the Next Switch a couple years ago, so therefore this one cannot be called the first.
