On a more positive note, a new Mario & Luigi means getting more of my favorite take on Bowser(assuming the writing is good but let's not worry about that)

This is just some speculation but, I think this is made by Next level games with help form former alpha dream developers. Next level is known to heavily animate the Mario cast in their game, and in the trailer Mario and Luigi are heavily animated. The style and design is so on point it has to be the work of a former alpha dream dev.

These people are crazy. Heck some of them even said and I quote “who asked for this”.

Me. I asked for this.

I've been asking for this game for years.

@Tyranexx @VoidofLight Oh wow I didn’t even think of Monolith, however that is a good candidate. I think it’s probably either Monolith or the Super Mario RPG remake developers, however I think the SMRPG devs are a little more likely. I guess we will see once the game comes out (Nintendo recently has been quieter when it comes to talking about who developed their games)

Me before June Direct 2023: I hope the TTYD rumors are true.

Me after June Direct 2023: Super Mario RPG LETS GO! unique characters are back! I’ll probably have to wait a long time for TTYD, but at least it seems like it’s in the realm of possibility.

Me after September Direct 2023: TTYD remake? Super Mario RPG remake isn’t even out yet! THIS LOOKS SO GOOD! I can’t believe we’re getting 2 legendary Mario RPGs within one year of each other, it sounds crazy!

Me before June Direct 2024: (There was no main Direct in February, so the June is the 1st general Direct after September 2023) It would be awesome to have Mario & Luigi on Switch and be there along with TTYD and SMRPG, but the studio shut down so there’s no way they’ll do it.

Me after June 2024 Direct: NO WAY! 3 Mario RPGs in 365 days! Remakes of TTYD and Super Mario RPG and a new Mario & Luigi!

Thank you for reading this story if you read it all XD

I gotta find a way to play the other Mario & Luigi games. I was never that big of a handheld guy so I never picked them up when I was younger, unforunately it looks like I was missing out. Regardless it looks like we're in a new era of great Mario RPGS. I just hope we get a proper turn based Paper Mario sequel!

Like Nintendo’s other releases this fiscal year, Mario & Luigi: Brothership will release on a Thursday.

I noticed this as well. Same with Echoes of Wisdom. Nintendo is gonna Nintendo no matter what, but TBH I slightly prefer Friday releases if I absolutely want to take time off (which is rare anyway).

@PikminMarioKirby @Tyranexx I wonder why Nintendo's been releasing their newer games on Thursdays instead of Fridays. Maybe they want to release them one day ahead of time so those games will potentially be on store shelves on the entirety of Fridays and beyond? Something like that, I guess.

@PikminMarioKirby And Mario Party is the same way. Thursday is the new Friday for Nintendo. Even though it's not Pay Day, it's actually better for me since I like to take Thursdays off from work!

@Croctopus Thursdays are pay day at my work. Every other Thursday.

Endless Ocean: Luminous, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD all seem to release on Thursdays as well (as @Croctopus and @Tyranexx already mentioned)

It looks like this is a new release strategy for Nintendo Switch games. Perhaps it gives initial sales a bit of a boost?

It could possibly be sales related, or maybe even related to some form of mitigation regarding broken street dates. I don't think it has anything to do with pay days; those can be all over the place depending on the job. Mine is every other week on a Friday.

Hopefully they don’t cancel/limit pre-orders for Mario & Luigi Brothership like they did with TTYD.

WoomyNNYes

Weird how the Brothership trailer rendering of Mario and Luigi (when there are closeups of Mario & Luigi) it looks like the upscaling rendering style of Mario Sunshine (the game cube port). The colors look kind of smudgey. It's not a bad look. It's not a bad look, but did anyone else notice that? Makes me wonder if Brothership was created for an older console and put on hold for many years.

(forgive me if this has been discussed already)

@WoomyNNYes It doesn't really look like Mario Sunshine at all imo. I also don't think it was put on hold, given that this game seems radically different from the other Mario and Luigi titles on a stylistic level.

Plenty of time to win me over,
but just not sure about this one yet.

Just looks a bit bland to me so far.

I’d love to see the Elite Trio return with the Green Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, and a Goomba. They were so cool in the previous games.
