These are effortless looks that are full of life and energy and the child is relaxed which is super important, too, as the tension always shows in photos.
Also if you want a fantasy type shoot, you can work on the outfit and use a white background, that can later be changed (there is an AI tool for that). However, you need to explain to the kid that s/he needs to act as if there is a particular setting around. Kids have great imagination, though, so it wouldn’t be a problem. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a64eccf01b3740e0acce27b523d7657d5f72b906955e23f86663ac9305f5e54b.jpg

You could have a photo of the child petting the dog.

I especially love the “hide and seek” shot. I am sure that shot expresses pure joy on the child’s face. Thanks for the tip!

Too true. I’ve read reports on how dogs are uncomfortable and can feel threatened when hugged. Even by family members it is close to.

Do you think people are stupid enough to have portraits taken with a dangerous or unfamiliar animal?

I’m sure the same techniques would apply quite nicely 🙂

I have so many cheesy shots of the kids, and studying photography they are sick of my camera (and flash!) in their face. You’ve given me some great ideas 🙂

It is one of the leading causes of why children get bitten by dogs.

A good article on the topic: http://doggonesafe.blogspot.ca/2010/12/dogs-dont-like-hugs-and-kisses.html
