October is such a killer month.

I don't know if it's because of the brighter colors or what, but this has caught my attention more than Three Houses ever did (though the MC's "Joy-Con" hair does look a bit silly).

Kinda have a mixed history with FE though, so we'll see.

This game reminds me more of Fire Emblem Awakening in its style and look.

It feels like the natural evolution of a more classic FE 3DS experience. I really dig it.

@JaxonH Is the Collector's Edition available somewhere other than the myNintento Shop?

And I'm really, really excited for this. I also hope it's one path like Awakening. Just give me something that isn't 100+ hours...

If it plays anything like Three Houses in terms of the interaction with characters and customization, I will be all for this one.

Im a slow gamer when it comes to trying to get used to the gameplay in any Fire Emblem game.

I still need to do the final battle in Fire Emblem Awakening and I still need to buy and play Three Houses just to catch up on whatever is new for gameplay etc in Three Houses.

Not yet. Too early to know where preorders will be taken. I'll be sure to post when I know more.

It doesn't seem to be multiple paths for this one. Which, I appreciated the multiple paths in Three Houses. But it is nice to go back to a more classic style approach now.

@JaxonH I just have so many games to play, including two Xenoblades. I love FE so, so much. I don't want to feel overwhelmed.

DIdnt Fire Emblem already have a Dynasty Warriors type game a couple of years ago or was that the Legend of Zelda series?

That makes me sad that this isn't the Warriors game roster that FE deserved. It's SO saturated with 3DS game characters.

So which is better? Fire Emblem Warriors or Three Hopes?

That being said I am going on radio silence so I don’t have to hear all the whining from the stuck on the old games fans that happens every release. I’ll be back in January. Will likely be bumping the 3Houses and 3Hopes threads as I commit to beating them.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes by a landslide. That game was way better than I was expecting.

Ya, if history is any indication you know it's coming. If it does I'll probably dip out too. I'm done letting ppl sour my hype for games. Some ppl just don't like seeing others happy and will do anything to kill the hype. But at least for now, it seems fine. So I'll hang around, and if the thread starts getting overran by the never-happy, always-complaining sticklers, I can always check out at that time.

Right now, I'm too excited not to talk about it. I'd say this game just became my #1 most hyped release, with Pikmin 4 close behind. Though I must say, Bayonetta 3, Persona 5 Royal, Nier Automata, Mario Rabbids and Octopath Traveler 2 are up there, with Harvestella, Atelier Ryza 3 and Kirby (been waiting nearly SIX YEARS for a good 2D Kirby on Switch) at reasonably high hype levels too.

It's been a while since I've been active here, and coming from other places, this community is such a breath of fresh air for everything FE realted. Reddit is insanely toxic that it legitimately put me off from playing Three Hopes for a while (still not jazzed from the demo, but that's more because of my expectations.

@XandertheWise they're both solid from what I've played. While I can't really speak of Three Hopes outside of the demo, I can say that at least it has an identity. FE Warriors is the ultimate FE 3DS fan-service game. It's fine, but nothing special, especially since it doesn't have the adoration for the whole franchise like Hyrule Warriors did. I always get a bit disappointed by it, not by what it is but rather by what it could have been.

Three Houses practically felt like a reinvention of the franchise. This seems... like what I would have expected for the follow-up to the 3DS games.

Basically Nu Awakening with heavy shades of Heroes and a dash of Tokyo Mirage.

Oh boy, we're heading back to a split fanbase, aren't we?

So why are some people so against this game? Is it just for the art style alone? I personally really like the art style and I think it's a great way to make sure games don't age too poorly. Just look at Three Houses, I love that game but it looks pretty drab.

couple of years ago when i played Fire Emblem Shadows of Velentia and Awakening for my Nintendo 3DS, i never understood the so called craze for Marth when he was constantly being put in the game as DLC. Im not much of a fan of the Fire Emblem games but their stories are decent. Just dont get the craze when it involves Marth.

No idea. The game looks phenomenal. I get that not everyone likes the protag. It's definitely a bold design. But it's like... even if it's not to your liking, so what. It seems like most FE protags get hated on. Be it Corrin, Female Byleth, Shez, etc.

I don't care though. I'm done letting ppl ruin my hype. If ppl don't like it, they don't have to play it. I'm here for it though.

Ya, we are. A certain segment of the fanbase has never accepted the more stylish Japanese look. Its like they're embarrassed to play a game with such an artstyle or something.

I, for one, greatly appreciate the series constantly changing things up, offering a fresh take with nearly every new entry.

Personally, I've always preferred Awakening's art style the most. And this looks like a flashier, prettier, HD evolution of that. To date, this is the best looking Fire Emblem game I've seen. The colors are incredible. Just imagine how it's going to look on the OLED.
