Topic: Fire Emblem Engage for Nintendo Switch

So, we have some new information coming in that aligns with both Emily Rogers and the 4 pictures leaked from China.

Here's a new picture of the avatar from the front, with the previous 4 images included for reference

Someone in a private Discord shared some info and the new image.

• Name could be "Fire Emblem Engage"
• Focuses on a Ring the player uses to summon past lord characters
• Overworld map is explorable similar to Shadows of Valentia
• Most characters are from 2 cities- 1 is aquatic themed
• Protagonist hair color is plot related
• No weapon durability but there is forging
• Build is from December 2021
• Weapon triangle is more punishing/forgiving (not sure what this means)
• Minigames to raise stats of main character
• 2 forms of multiplayer- online PVP and co-op
• Game is 1 route like Awakening
• A remake of Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War (FE4 on SNES) is also in development

It's certainly an interesting design choice, but it also aligns with Gust being involved. These designs have Gust written all over them.

At first I really disliked the split hair color, but seeing it from the front it's actually growing on me. It's different, and bold, and definitely a new style we've never seen before in the series, but if the writing and characters are on par with Three Houses, I think it could work.

I am starting to get excited for this now. It suddenly feels more tangible, like we could be playing a new Fire Emblem before the year is over.

@JaxonH The protag definitely looks better from the front. It looks and sounds very different from Three House so I'm excited to see how good it is. Hopefully it'll release sooner rather than later

Some have speculated it could be announced in the coming Direct, and while I won't rule it out completely, I feel like 5 days after Three Hopes isn't enough breathing room.

For that reason, I expect to get an announcement in an early September Direct, with perhaps a late October release to help fill the month with Bayonetta 3.

I call knock off. Why would the only images be Chinese language only? Nobody is able to find Japanese language pics for a game made by IS (or even Gust), a Japanese studio? Either fake or rip off. I’m happy to be wrong but this doesn’t convince me.

It actually makes sense due to the Chinese localization, and China is where most leaks come from for tightly held Nintendo info. They have it sealed tight in Japan (Switch "Mini" comes to mind).

The designs match the info provided by Emily Rogers, and the designs have Gust written all over them.

Furthermore, some people have translated the text that's readable and it's definitely Fire Emblem. Anna's name is listed by the redhead, and all the menu options translate to things you'd expect for a FE game.

Feel free to believe as you wish of course, but don't be surprised when this is the game that gets announced. I'm 99% sure this is legit

Should add, if someone was faking a leak they'd probably not use Chinese text, they'd likely use English or Japanese to make it seem more real, so that actually lends to its credibility.

Also, the image was reverse searched across the internet to see if it was an edited image of some other Chinese game, and nothing was found. There's always the possibility it's not real so I won't completely rule that out, but all evidence thus far seems to indicate authenticity.

That red blue hair reminds me of something...

@JaxonH with no announcement or webpage where would those images come from? There hasn’t been a direct and a game in development makes no sense to have images in a localized language floating around before the game is done, really far along or at least in a demo/sizzle reel state. Localization comes usually later down the dev pipe. Because the game or at least a script has to be handed off to the localization team. So I still think it’s a rip off possibly in development in China.

That being said, I am not here to drag down your thread. I said how I felt and I am happy to leave it at that as you know I take absolute zero stock in rumor.

Edit: I will say if it is real, wtf is designing the female My Unit? Would it kill them to let me play someone designed like (Adult) Eldelgard or Titania; who do I have to pay to get an elegant badass design? Sigh. Please let female character design progress before I die.

There's hundreds if not thousands of ppl involved in making games. All it takes is one person involved to snap a few pics.

And the game is done. That was told us by Emily Rogers and the person who leaked the images. It's finished, and has been for some time. Furthermore, the one who leaked the images said they're old, and they took them a half year ago. But since Emily broke the news, they decided to share it.

Again, it's always possible it's a fake, but reverse image searches bring up nothing, and the translation matches what you'd expect to a tee, and the art style also matches Gust, and the character definitely looks like a FE character. If it's fake it's one of the most ambitious and expertly executed Ive ever seen. How they'd get images from a game that has zero screenshots on the entire internet world wide is beyond me.

The protagonist does not start out looking like that. As was elaborated, it's plot related, something happens that causes it.

I've actually rather warmed up to the protagonist. At first I was put off but now I think it looks pretty rad. Like Lucina but with more style and flavor. Its nice seeing Fire Emblem changing styles for each game, never resting on its laurels.

@JaxonH OK, never let it be said that I am not a woman that admits she is wrong. You called it. I will say I'm glad I didn't believe you though because that early footage was rough. but So long as I can play as a female protag and hopfully summon Lyn, I'm in...ok I mean I'm in no matter what but still that would be cake. Still think the dual hair color looks silly though. BUT DAMN those graphics are popping! Sorta feels like some #FE influence.

I am definitely excited about this!

Graphically, it looks a lot better than Three Houses. Looks pretty cool!

Started with a bang and ended with a bang. This and zelda made it for me.

I really hope there's an option to put a hat on the avatar, like a fedora class as that hair is horrible!

Ya it's still a bit odd but overall the game looks really slick. Almost like a spiritual successor to Fire Emblem Awakening in its style. I'm really digging it.

Games do typically look a lot better when they're the final polished product in motion vs in development cell phone screenshots. I had a feeling the game was going to look pretty good once revealed.

My birthday is January 18th, so Jan 20th release date is like, happy birthday to me! And a collector edition with steelbook?!!! Yes please!!
