Decent game, has some challengeing platforming and interesting artsy minimalistic graphics, however it also has some real issues.
On the switch, this games button mapping can't be changed, and the default mapping is a literal pita. Very awkward to have to change between A and Y buttons in mid-air. Plus, it doesn't help that the function to "change worlds" with the Y button has a delay. A delay in a hard-core precision platformer is a big no-no. The concept of the world-swapping in mid stride is however one of the coolest features this game has implemented. It's a by sad that it fails to apply it well.
The entire game feels like it is played on ice, and sliding into your death is a normal occurrence. The physics in general have some issues, with levels not being reset when you die thus creating out of synch platforms and threats. In these cases luck, or obstinance, is your only saviour. Sometimes there is no other choice than to die, and this built in unfairness is one of the reasons this game isn't getting a reasonable score. For it had potential, a lot of it.
As for the controls in general, steering left and right is kind of hard when doing precise movements. The lateral movement is too sensitive. On the other hand, the vertical movement has no sensitivity whatsoever. You can jump a certain height, and since double jumps are a thing, this makes for some interesting strategy with your jumps. However, it would be nice to be able to short-press for a shorter hop, and long-press for a higher jump. This latter part isn't really a complaint, as it creates a unique gameplay when having a set jump height, yet the ability to double jump.
It is a fun game, and if it is on sale for under $2, I'd recommend picking it up. Be ready for some frustrating moments. However, if the developers see this, please aĺlow us to change the button mapping, or at least fix them in a way that makes sense. Also, fix the rest of your game too while you're on it.
This had potential, and you screwed it up.
Rating 3/10
I don't understand why everybody hates this game, I think it was pretty fun. Though, one level is just EXTREMELY hard and I've tried to beat it so many times, but I couldn't.
