Review Alleyway (3DS eShop / GB)
The poor man's Arkanoid
The most well-known block-breaking game, Arkanoid, became quite popular after its release in arcades in 1986. Many companies have created clones, and even to this day new low-budget ones show up all the time. Even Nintendo tried their hand at a clone with Alleyway for the Game Boy. Alleyway keeps things to the bare basics. No...

Not the most thrilling launch game, but still, brings back memories.
Alleyway = Arkanoid
Who pays 3 bucks for a game like this in 2011?

I (just kidding)
I will probably pick this up...
@TwilightPrince
Um, people who used to enjoy playing it on the original Gameboy when it first came out, and want a bit of a nostalgia buzz. Like myself. It's a decent game too. I wouldn't pay top dollar for it, but 3 bucks is barely an expense.
Hoping to see more classic Gameboy games at low prices soon, Balloon Kid also please Nintendo, and the Gameboy version of Tetris because it's the best Also get some third party stuff on there like Gargolyle's Quest.
@ToxieDogg
Its good that Nintendo have released games like Alleyway on the 3DS VC. Ok they might not be perfect games but its the memories and nostalgia it brings back playing those games like you say. I downloaded Tennis here in the UK which to me is a brilliant little game. Also I'm with you on that one about Nintendo releasing some more classics especially Balloon Kid and Golf would be good too. Now for the 3rd party titles lets have Mercenary Force, Fortress Of Fear, Bionic Commando, Kid Dracula and Bolder Dash to name just a few.
I have this too on my 82 or something in 1 Game Boy Cartidge. Not a bad game but a bit dull.
I luv this game! It's really fun & addictive.
I think this review is being a little harsh. Sure Alleyway is a copy of Arkanoid, but its still fun. Its like downgrading Tetris because its a clone of the PC version with less colors and levels.
