News Steampunk City Builder 'Airborne Kingdom' Is Swooping Onto Switch This November
Like clockwork
We love it when someone innovates on a well-trodden trend with new and exciting ideas. Airborne Kingdom, you see, is not just your average city builder. It's not even just your average steampunk city builder. Airborne Kingdom — as you can, er, probably guess from the name — is a city builder in the sky. Your city will be a...
About The Game
A great kingdom in the sky once existed. It brought peace and harmony to the lands below. However, one day, that kingdom vanished. Without its guidance, civilization devolved and fractured. Now, a new community is taking to the skies and looking to restore the balance.
Take off into the rarefied air and travel throughout vast open landscapes to reunite the world. Gather and manage resources to expand. Dispatch workers. Construct academies. Research technology to better homes, water systems, and food silos to improve the lives of the citizenry. Then forge alliances by sharing supplies and knowledge with neighboring kingdoms.
The console versions of Airborne Kingdom include everything found in the BAFTA-nominated PC release, including the recently-released New Game Plus Update. This mode features a sprawling new world to explore with increased challenge and fresh twists like new town centers to give city builders a leg up on this more trying journey. The experience also introduces more variety with increased randomized elements ranging from questlines to kingdom placement.
"Our team is all about adventure and sparking creativity,” said Ben Wander, lead designer, The Wandering Band. “Airborne Kingdom is full of peace and possibility and we look forward to sharing what we’ve created with the Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox communities when the game comes in for a landing on consoles this November.”
